On Saturday we were lucky enough to attend the Snapped Up Market at The Printhaus, Cardiff's only community-based, not-for-profit screen-printing workshop. It's a venue that I have always heard such positive things about but I have never been able to apply for their previous events as they always seemed to clash with our existing bookings.
We were not disappointed! The building is a hive of creativity with screen printing machines and rented-studio spaces full of indie businesses. It was a great, creative atmosphere with a wide range of craft businesses selling jewellery, prints, ceramics, clothing and more.
As The Printhaus offer screen printing services and courses it was only right that there was also the opportunity to print-your-own t-shirts too! There was also live music, drinks and fresh pizzas from Dusty Knuckle Pizza.
However, things are changing for The Printhaus family. The entire site has been sold to a high-end residential property developer and The Printhaus is being forced to move location. There are HUGE costs involved in the moving to the new location at Chapter Arts so if you want to show some support for a local business then you can find the crowdfunding page here - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-the-printhaus?tk=2e7f9235f5b3edc79df42e7fc440cfa9ef6ab40e you can even pick a reward for your donation.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that The Printhaus can continue to run events as it was great to meet some new faces, buy some unique products and be surrounded with other like-minded people!
